About the Author
I am a Maryland native who moved to Nashville in 2002. I have had an interest in politics for as long as I can remember. My first strong political memory occurred at the age of nine when I saw that electoral map covered in blue for Ronald Reagan. I studied Government and Russian Studies at the University of Maryland and returned to the same school several years later to earn a Masters in Education. I taught Government, World History, and Economics at high schools in both Maryland and Tennessee for several years.
I became a stay-at-home mom in January 2006 with the birth of my daughter Catherine. She was joined by her brother Ian in July 2009. I began to work from home in early 2008 as a freelance writer and editor and continue that work today. I am fortunate to have a job that allows me to support my children while still being able to spend time with them every day.
